Trip To Northern Rivers

Big week this week for the team, with Lily and Liam travelling to the Northern Rivers to meet some of the key players behind this project and create some meaningful relationships.

John Hutchdson (Hutcho) - above - is one of the main drivers behind the establishment of a meshtastic network in the Terrania and Turnable Ck Catchments. He's manufactured and deployed a number of his own nodes (at his own cost), successfully establishing comms between a number of houses and people across the valleys. We're fortunate in more ways than one to have Hutcho as excited as he is about the project. The team is excited to continue working with him and others over the next 6 months+.

During our visit, we deployed a number of these repeater nodes in key locations across the valley, successfully bridging communications to parts of the catchment that previously did not have comms. A testament to the work of Hutcho and others in deploying such a great system. From discussions with Annie, Hutcho, Dave, and others, the team have a number of avenues of investigation to consider moving forward. One being the frequency of data transmission and the access to that data. Others include investigation of BLE antennas and integrating SES into the mesh network
