Rainfall Node up and running at SVF

This morning the team set up our rainfall node at ANU's Spring Valley Farm (adjacent to Mt Stromlo). This serves as a significant milestone in the long term testing of a mini mesh system here in Canberra.

The rain gauge node was mounting over 3 star pickets. Time will tell if this mounting solution is sufficient to ensure stability and measurement accuracy in windy conditions. The team is in the process of exploring alternative mounting options.

While at SVF, the team conducted some preliminary range tests to scope out ideal mounting locations for repeater nodes. The below image was taken at approximately 1.3km from the rain gauge node (in the valley below).
