The team has designed an manufactured 2x improved repeater nodes, integrated into a commercial off the shelf solar light. The use of a COTS product improves reliability and repeatability.

A simple 3D printed case was designed to fit into the cavity left by the removed LED light. The case is glued in place and sealed at all points.

Below is an inside view of the case, with a RAK Wisblock 12002 base board and 4631 core module. One of the major benefits of the RAK boards is a built in solar controller, making integration with the solar panel essentially plug and play.

With the integration of a battery, these nodes could be used independently of the solar light, as handheld portable communication devices (however this is not our use case).
